Vision and Aims
Vision The Genesis Trust is a Christian charity supported
by nearly 60 churches of all denominations within Bath and the surrounding
area. The Trust aims to enable churches of all denominations, as
strong communities within Bath, to support those who are most in
need, to never give up on the vulnerable and to help people establish
themselves in the community.
"If anyone has material processions and sees
his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of
God be in him? So let us not love only with words or with tongue
but with action and in truth."
1 John 3:17-18

Our aims are:
- To enable churches of all denominations to support those
most in need in Bath.
- To help homeless and low income people towards greater
independence, improved quality of life and integration
into the local community.
- To provide free and low cost food and furniture, pastoral
care and support, high quality advice and information
on housing, employment, alcohol and drug related issues.

"...for us, working
at the Sunday Centre is an opportunity for both churches
in the village (Baptist and C of E) to come together to
work for one purpose. It is amazingly unifying and very
refreshing to look outwards instead of inwards, which so
often happens.
....Janet
Spence
(Sunday Centre volunteer)
"Just over one year
ago I found myself homeless in Bath. During that year I
found the Soup Run. It was a joy to meet Christians who
said they would pray for me and offered me encouragement
and support. Each night I prayed that God would keep me
safe and each day I thanked Him.
"Throughout that
year I met many people from different churches, each one
inviting me to one of the services in their church. Sometime
later, after I had moved to a hostel I found my local church
and was welcomed. I now enjoy being part of a wonderful
church family and I have started to rebuild my life. I have
recently moved into my own flat and life is more positive
for me now."
