Life Skills

Life-Skills at Genesis Trust is about helping homeless and vulnerable individuals to move forwards in their lives and make positive progress.  We engage with clients in a holistic way, building relationships, developing self-esteem and inspiring and motivating change.

The Life Skills programme is run by two part-time staff members supported by volunteers from across the churches in Bath.  It provides emotional and spiritual support, training and social development skills courses and activities.   Our vision is for each person who comes to us to be valued as an individual and to be given a chance to make a positive change and/or move on in their lives perhaps through small steps back into education, employment or volunteering.

Our aim is to identify and meet where possible our clients’ life skills requirements, giving them flexible learning opportunities which are sensitive to their needs.  This is achieved through both group courses and individual one-to-one support.

There is now a packed life skills programme which is run from the Genesis Centre at 1-3 James Street West, there really is something for everybody.

Various trips and outings are also organised throughout the year, such as Boules Tournaments and Skittles evenings, cycle rides and days out further afield.   For more information please ring Denise or Carey on 01225 463549.
